Spampal is an email spam filtering program developed by the Internet Security Research Group (ISRG). Spampal will be used to discover how spam blocking programs actually work. How does Spampal work?
Spampal sits in between your mail program and your mail inbox, scanning your incoming emails as they arrive. Whenever Spampal deems your incoming mail to be spam, it will tag them with a unique header; this is called a SPAM header and all emails that come from your computer will get one of these headers. SpamPal will then categorize these emails based on the headers that are found in them. The most spam emails will end up in a folder labeled as Spammed, while the most important emails will end up in a folder labeled SpamFree. You can easily locate all the emails in your Spammed folder by clicking on the Spammed folder icon on the SpamFree folder.
As you can see, Spampal is very efficient at its job. You may think that SpamPal will only keep track of the most spam emails, but you should expect to receive tons of emails from your friends, family members, business associates and colleagues. And once Spammers get your email address, they can send out a flood of junk email to all of your contacts, causing you to have lots of junk mail in your Spam's folder! So the next time you receive a large number of emails from your contacts, consider SpamPal and use it to help you prevent spam emails.
